Riding a horse always sounds fun. You get to watch people riding on a stag in action movies. When you were a kid, you always dreamed of growing up like the protagonist in the movie Geronimo. If it is too loose, it will be hard to ride the colt. They may get hurt or wounded on its back. You are responsible to take care of it by providing a saddle fitting.

Helmet. A jockey should always wear a helmet whenever he mounts and rides his horse. We can never tell when accidents happen. It does not matter if you are a beginner or advanced rider, wearing a helmet saves you from potential head injuries.

Chaps. The seat can be a bit slippery, especially if you are new to horse riding. Wearing a chap provides your legs with a greater hold on the seat. Chaps are also used to protect you from colt sweat, which makes it more slippery to ride on the animal. Make sure that the chaps you will wear are befitting. Wearing a chap that is too limp makes it difficult to sit.

Breeches. An important piece of clothing that provides the rider with better movement. This clothing is worn from the waist down to the knees. It helps prevent the leg from chapping the horse body.

Gloves. Wearing a pair of gloves does not only warm your finger, but it also used for a better rein hold. They are usually thick and provide a non slip area on palm. Gloves come in different styles and prices.

Boots. This pair of footwear protects your feet from sliding through the stirrup. You should be wise in buying boots. Boots need to be durable and impermeable from water from entering in. Boots with 1 inch heels are best for horse riding, while thicker heel boots are not disapproved.

Before you enter a training, be sure that you have these things. It is crucial to optimize your performance in training, so that it will be easy for you to enter into a college that needs jockeys to represent their school.
